Google Tests Research Search Carousel

Google Research

Google seems to be testing a new search feature that shows a "research" search carousel box in the search results for content around your query. I cannot replicate this by Geoff Angell posted a screen shot on Twitter showing the feature in action.

Here it is:

Google Research Box Search Results

I am able to see the "Refine by type", which we've covered here before, but not that Research box. The query was [paint sprayer] - try it yourself.

This reminds me of the in depth articles box Google use to show frequently in the search results. Maybe they renamed it or maybe this is something new?
