The Google Non-Profit Knowledge Graph

Google Knowledge GraphIt seems like Google has released a new form of their knowledge graph, one that shows non-profit information when you search for non-profit organizations.

It seems like the non-profit needs to have a Google+ page but once you have that, your non-profit knowledge graph should show up. Example searches that return this information include [kiva], [red cross], [donors choose], [american heart association] and many more.

The data that shows up include:

  • Number of followers on Google+
  • Wikipedia description
  • Logo & Link to Google+
  • Tax ID Number
  • Founded Date
  • Tax Deductibility Code
  • Nonprofit Category
  • Assets
  • Revenue
  • Income
  • Founders

Now, depending on the non-profit, some or all or more of this information shows.

I spotted this by way of Gregor J. Rothfuss, a technical lead for the Google Maps UI team on Google+.
