Google News Submission Bug With Categories

Google News SubmissionThere is a confirmed bug with the Google News submission form.

If you are a news publisher and want to submit your news site to Google News for inclusion, but you want to submit your site into multiple categories, you currently cannot do so.

The available categories to choose from include; Paid Subscription, Free Registration, Press release, Opinion content, Blog, Tabloid, Magazine, Citizen Journalism, Tabloid, Satire, Promotions, Classifieds, Message Boards, Horoscopes, Obituaries, Syndicated Content and Other.

Google representative, Erik said in a Google News Help thread:

We're aware of this issue and working to resolve it as quickly as possible. At this time, try submitting your site with just one section, or the main news section-- if it is accepted, you can submit additional ones using a site update afterwards.

So submit to one category, and after inclusion go to the report an update form and add the additional categories.
