Google Webmaster Tools Search Queries Improved For Separate Mobile Sites

Jan 8, 2014 - 8:25 am 1 by

Google's Maile Ohye announced yesterday improvements to how Google reports on search queries for web sites that run their mobile sites on a separate URL. Such as on m.example.com or example.mobil or so forth.

Now, instead of counting the Skip Redirect impressions with the desktop URL, it will break them out into the mobile site. You can set the filter to view your m. site* and set Filters to “Mobile,” from Dec 31, 2013 onwards.

Here is a picture showing the details:

John Mueller from Google said on Google+, "this will make it a bit easier for you to keep track of the queries going there. "

Of course, if you have the same URL or a responsive design, this wouldn't apply.
