Google Scissors Tinker

Gary Illyes said while on stage at the Search Masters Brazil that the Google Medic update, the core search algorithm update on August 1st, was not designed to target YMYL types of web sites. Pedro Dias, who posted this on Twitter, said he said " It was just a happy coincidence that it also impacted sites in that vertical."

Pedro Dias is a former Googler who is now an SEO. He interviewed Gary Illyes of Google on stage at the Search Masters Brazil event. Pedro said on Twitter:

I honestly believe that - which is why Google keeps saying it is all categories of search and why it did NOT just impact YMYL or medical sites.

I guess Google or Googlers are not upset that it had an impact on this vertical, more so than on other verticals but again it was not designed to just impact one area - which makes sense in what we are all seeing.
