Google Logo Remembers The Loch Ness Monster Hoax Picture 81 Years Later

Loch Ness MonsterToday on Google's home page is a special Google doodle, animated Google logo, for the 81st year anniversary of the famed hoax photo of the Loch Ness Monster.

On April 21, 1934 the "Surgeon's Photograph" was supposedly the first photo of this monster, it turned out to be a hoax but a really famous one. The photo was likely taken by Robert Kenneth Wilson and it was published on April 21st in the Daily Mail.

In any event, Google is playing it up today with a special animated Doodle plus a way to go Street View via Google Maps to find the monster yourself.

Last year in June, Google released a Google Maps transit hack for the Loch Ness Monster as well.
