Google has released Chrome 46 to Windows, Mac and Linux users and with that, Google has removed the "Ok Google" voice action to trigger Google to listen to your voice search.

Google said in a Google Chrome Help thread the feature was removed because it wasn't used that much.

“Ok Google” voice action removal (Windows, Mac, and Linux only):

In Chrome 46, we’ll be removing the ability to use the “Ok Google” voice action on Chrome for desktop as we haven’t seen many users utilize this feature on these platforms. Voice search will still be available on the New Tab Page and for any google.com pages when you click on the mic icon. Note that this feature is still available on Chromebooks.

Like when ever Google removes anything, there are complaints - and we have many complaints here. Those who hate to click with their mouse, now need to, in order to do a basic query on Google.

Here is a complaint thread in the Google Web Search Help forums as well.

I am sure the complaints will die down over time.
