There are a number of searchers complaining in the Google Web Search Help forums that when they search on Google, the auto complete suggestions that come down as you type won't go away even after clicking on the search bar.
The issues were reported as early as March 10th and more and more users are complaining about the issue.
A Google Top Contributor bluequoll said he was able to reproduce it himself and said:
Yes, it's starting to look more widespread.I've flagged the issue for Google's attention.
As you can imagine, it may cover up the search results and become very frustrating to searchers.
