Is Gary Illyes From Google Leaving Twitter Again?

Goodbye

Back in March, Gary Illyes from Google - one of our most favorite Googlers, said he is no longer checking Twitter - he needed a break. But in the past few weeks or so, he was a lot more active on Twitter. I think that is going to end again.

Gary posted on Twitter a hint that he might be dropping his Twitter app from his phone. Here is that tweet:

Maybe it has to do with the Twitter purge from yesterday but you and I know it is not. It is probably related to the toll it takes on so many people.

Gary did tweet earlier, before saying goodbye to the Twitter app:

And yes, John has not tweeted since yesterday's posts.

This is why SEOs can't have good things. Googlers try to help us out in forums and on social media, we beat them up, they can go away.

I certainly hope Gary, John, Danny and others don't leave Twitter or other forms of social media - those contributions and communication platforms are invaluable to the SEO community.
