466453.com Now 404s; Google's Old SMS Search Feature

Back, a hundred internet years ago, Google bought 466453.com and then after using it for years as their SMS search feature, Google pulled the feature offline in March 2013.

Well, now, 466453.com no longer goes anywhere, it 404s, page not found.

Here is the error:

466453.com Now 404s

The service was dead for a long time, but I am not sure why Google just didn't 301 redirect it to google.com?
