GooglePlex

Trey Ratcliff took a picture of the outside area of the GooglePlex, actually the backyard area. I have never seen such a nice picture of Google before. Would you agree?

Trey posted the picture on Google + the other day.

This post is part of our daily Search Photo of the Day column, where we find fun and interesting photos related to the search industry and share them with our readers.

This is not real. The picture was handled some how to look like a painting. Though is is really nice.

It's HDR / High Dynamic Range photography.  There's a pretty good writeup of it at WikiPedia.  More to the point, a photographer effectively mounts his camera in a stationary position.  The same photograph is taken several times with different settings to capture different ranges of light and color.  Those images are then merged back into one high dynamic range image.  That also explains why the photo is less crisp around the edges than most digital images you would see.

I think it's just the sky and the mode of photography more than anything else.
