John Mueller, a Google Webmaster Trends Analysts in Zurich, Switzerland and also one of the most responsive Googlers webmasters can talk to - posted on Google+ a chat he had with his daughter.
My daughter says we should move away from using back-links in our algorithms.Instead, she recommends focusing on cat-links.
Thoughts?
Now that is too funny.
Either she is really smart or really cute.
The more interesting part is that for her to know about links in the algorithm it depends on two things:
(1) She is old enough to know this stuff or
(2) John is constantly talking about link spam around his family.
If it is number two and his daughter is under 10 or so, then the response is incredibly cute.
I bet many of you feel John should take his daughter's advice. The only issue, he doesn't make those decisions.
