Here is a recap of what happened in the search forums today, through the eyes of the Search Engine Roundtable and other search forums on the web.

Search Engine Roundtable Stories:

  • 2010 Earth Day Logos from Google, Yahoo, Bing & Others
Today is Earth Day and we have a collection of Earth Day logos from the search industry. Including special logos or doodles from Google, Yahoo, Dogpile and themes from Bing and even our site. To see our archive of Earth Day logos, see 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005 and 2004. Below are pictures of those Earth Day logos. • Do Links That Open In New Windows Pass Equal Google PageRank
A WebmasterWorld thread has one member asking if links that deploy a target="_blank or similar code, which essentially opens a link in a new window - do those links pass PageRank and if so, is it diminished due to opening in a new window? To view the Google Buzz layer from your computer, go to Google Maps in your web browser and select Buzz from the More... menu in the top right corner of the map. Here is a picture of turning on the Buzz layer: Here is me zooming into my University: (note: I only
  • Google Trademarks The Word "We" - Well, Kind Of
A WebmasterWorld thread has one advertiser reporting that Google disapproved his AdWords ad due to trademark issues. In short, this advertiser said that Google disapproved the ad because of the word "we" was being used in the ad. The reason that Google gave him for the word "we" disapproving the ad was due to trademark usage. Sounds strange? Yes, it does. Even Google's AdWordsAdvisor representative in the forums replied that it sounded a bit off.
