Google: Forcing Crawling Of Pages To Discover Links Won't Do Much

Google Force

This is hard to put in a title, but in short, Google's John Mueller seems to have said that if you want Google to discover links added to a page that doesn't get crawled much or ever, you will have a hard time benefiting from those links. John said on Twitter " If the page is such that our systems aren't crawling it, then those links aren't going to do much -- and "forcing" a crawl won't change that at all."

Here are the tweets, so you see it in context:

It seems this webmaster got new links on an old page, but Google doesn't realize the links are there because the page is rarely ever crawled by Google.

What John seems to be saying is that even if you force Google to crawl the page, since Google rarely crawls it, those links on the page probably don't have much value anyway. Maybe?

What do you think?
