St. George's Day Logo Via ZX Spectrum

Google: St. George's Day & The ZX SpectrumToday is St. George's Day in the United Kingdom, but it is also the 30th anniversary of the ZX Spectrum.

To celebrate the day on Google UK, Google posted a logo of St. George as if it was designed for the ZX Spectrum back in 1982.

The logo is 256 pixels tall and 192 pixels wide with a palette of 15 shades: seven colors at two levels of brightness each, plus black.

The ZX Spectrum was created on April 23, 1982 in the United Kingdom by Sinclair Research. You can learn more about this console at Wikipedia.

Googler, Tony Ruscoe (he didn't design it) posted the logo on his Google+ and wrote:

The ZX Spectrum was released 30 years ago today and was my first computer. Writing programs in BASIC in the mid-1980s is probably one of the reasons why I’m working at Google today, so I’m really pleased to see this doodle on the Google.co.uk homepage today.
