Over a year ago, Google announced they are closing iGoogle 16 months later on November 1, 2013. Well, November 1st is about 30 days away and to remind iGoogle users, Google placed a pop up on the iGoogle home page.

iGoogle's 30 Day Warning Before Closure

This sent a ton of iGoogle users back into the forum to start a smaller but yet another revolt. iGoogle users have not found a good alternative and they are pleading with Google to keep it.

One user said in the Google Web Search Help forums:

You've decided to keep iGoogle, right? There is no suitable alternative. Thank you!

Nope, it is going away.

A top contributor did post several alternatives to iGoogle and here they are:

You got 30 days, be prepared.

Obviously many do.

I have tried them all and I find http://www.startme.com the best choice.

I didn't find it worthy. Closing 'Google Reader' was a real bad news.

Jawad didn't find it worthy. Barry, I think you should delete this article. Jawad, is there something else that you would prefer? My vote is on kitten videos. SERoundtable is clearly lacking in the news that counts...cute cat news. Also hippos because they amuse me. Jawad, your thoughts?

All hail Jawad and his worthiness criterion.

The third annual gathering of worthiness has commenced. Your dear lord of worthiness, Jawad, is in attendance and so worth shall be assigned with a fair and just hand! Jawad; He Who Knows the Minds of Other Men! Jawad; He Who Evaluates with Grace and Equity! Jawad; He Who Groks with the Clarity of a Polish Gemstone! Jawad; He Who Assigns Worth, and Who Taketh Worth Away! Jawad! Jawad! Forgive us for our impudence and our muddled understanding. Lo! For we are dogs at your heel! Jawad!

Ha!, Polish gemstone is a fantastic typo.

Startific looks quite different from all service mentioned so far, very interactive. I don't usually comment, but it's by far the best looking service - more of an app really, just lovely :-)

I believe PortalPanel.com is one of the best options for igoogle . it has new approach to this category and it has not copied igoogle again.

Try to Create your own home page with logos of your favorites places with http://iloggo.com You can crop icons easily and display your grids with logos on pc or mobile.

Just set up an account at http://www.ighome.com. I think it's most like igoogle.com

In my opinion Startific.com is by far the best looking of them all; just look at the interface - it's just pure awesome. Plus, why are all the alternatives so boring? most of them are just a not so good version igoogle, why would anyone want that?

http://www.iloggo.com replaces the standard Google home page (or iGoogle) with one that isn't just a search bar, but links to your most frequently visited sites presented as a logos.

I've found plenty of personalized homepage sites but nothing much that looks like my beloved iGoogle...until yesterday that is! Have just stumbled upon BlueG.com - looks the closest by far. Have picked a cool gaming theme...
