Porn Ads On Your Google Home Page?

There are several threads at the Google Webmaster Help forums with Google users saying they are seeing ads on the Google home page, but the ads are specific to adult sites and pornography.

Here is a screen capture of what one user saw but cleaned up a bit:

Porn Ads On Your Google Home Page

One thinks it had to do with an extension he added to his browser related to a "Mario Game." Others believe they downloaded some weird malware or virus.

If you see this, you can know it is not something Google wants on their home page and you likely installed a virus or malware on your computer.

It is just upsetting that there are several people reporting it in the forums because that means there are likely more affected.

I think it improves the look of the home page no end. If anyone knows which extension causes this, let me know ;)

On a similar note, I was unimpressed by Google's lack of acknowledgment for the recently popular 'National Cleavage Day' - I could think of a few suitable Google logos to show their appreciation

They did have a flag on the home page, which is how they really do it.

I ran a virus scan and I had no malware or viruses, so I am not sure what it is, but I was unimpressed with this! I have children that like to play games on here and when I go to the google homepage I have to be very careful that they are not around. I am very upset with this, they are not even old enough that they should know what naked women look like.

How is this any different than the Adult services ads Google places on their natural search results pages every day? Click on some of the foreign bride sites or adult “dating” sites and you will see all sorts of naughty bits – and Google is getting PAID for placing these ads!!!”

I scaned my PC with my antivirus program, downloaded three different anti-spyware programs, deletet all browser history/cookies, search google for hours trying to get rid of this embarrasing porn-ad. Nothing helped. Good thing I found this page. Removed a Super Mario game i had downloaded a couple of days ago, and the porn went away. The game was called Super Mario HD, and I downloaded it from Googles "Chrome Web Store". NOT GOOD GOOGLE!

I have also had ads for this on my homepage. I immediately uninstalled my Mario ad-ons after reading this and have since had no problem!! Thank you for posting this article so I could quickly figure out the issue. I was getting double banners for amateur webcam porn etc. I'm home for the summer and have little siblings, what if they walked by and were to see that!? The degradation society places on females is disgusting these days....if you want to support that sort of thing, please do it in private and don't force it on others who Don't want to have to look at it!

i had the same problem. after big number of hit and trial , i have found the solutions.1. on Google chrome: remove any unwanted extension. like i have removed Angry Birds Space extension. you can find this from chrome settings. 2. some folks has said it was due to because they have installed a game "Mario". so try to remove "Mario" and such games.

It is the Mario extension. It is the super mario bros. I had that extension and then it had a porn add on my google page. As soon as i got rid of the extension, the porn add went away.

Google company is ran by hypocrites and liars. Their parental controls don't even work. So, their image search is a porn search engine. And it cannot be blocked without blocking all of Google. No big deal. Just saying that parents need to be smart and block Google. They are no good for the Internet.

The same happened to me recently, i.e. banner in the bottom of google page through Firefox. I tried to search for malware using McAfee, Anti Malawarebytes and Spyboot with little success. Then I simply fully uninstalled Firerfox and installed it again and voilá, resolved.
