Today is Canada Day, celebrating the anniversary of the July 1, 1867, enactment of the British North America Act (today called the Constitution Act, 1867), which united three British colonies into a single country, called Canada, within the British Empire (via Wikipedia).
If you go to Google Canada today at google.ca you get a boring and standard logo:

Last year Google had a special logo for Canada Day, it looked like this:

Bing, Google's main competitor is celebrating Canada Day on all their main properties, even on Bing US, with this theme:

Even Yahoo Canada has a special animated logo:
So what is up Google? Did you forget your Canadian neighbors?

It is a disgrace that Google Canada did not honour Canada's birthday today. It was also disgrace that Google Canada did not honour Canada's veterans on November 11, 2010. Canada owes them so much. Shame. Shame, Google Canada. Shame.

I'm very disappointed Google! I'm from Canada, living in Canada and on this day you would think Google.ca would have remembered us!

I had deliberately gone onto google today to see how they would recognize Canada day seeing as I log onto google.ca. Well I guess it wasn't all that noteworthy in the headquarters; I mean, it is just some frozen mass somewhere beyond, now what state is it North Dakota or something, and there already isn't anything to speak of in North Dakota. Or mabe if there actually is a Canadian working at google.ca they are expressing the same apathy that is evident across the nation of Canada; Canadian, well that means we are not part of the USA, or national sovereignty, is just another way to say we'll take everything the USA has to offer just don't let on that our identity might in some way be blured with the nation to the South.
