I love the fact that Google is celebrating the master, and his masterful work Treasure Island.Oh and now I want my kids to read it more. So since it's Robert Louis Stevenson's Birthday http://www.flyingword.com was fortunate enough to launch a version of Treasure Island I really hope will bring kids into the story: the app represents the first ever 3D Audiobook (an iPad and iPhone app). To create Treasure Island I got to really embrace the book because we were able to restore images from antique copies of Treasure Island with permission from the University of MN Children’s Literature Archives. I don't know if I'll get my kids to play authors, but the images are now viewed through a completely modern 3D Pop-up that they can control, and I hope it along with the amazing writing of Robert Louis Stevenson will get them engaged. You can see the app here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/treasure-island-the-experience/id402311859?mt=8
