Today, if you go to many international versions of Google, you will see a special Google logo/doodle for Mary Shelley. Mary Shelley's 213th birthday is today and Google want's people who don't know about her to know about her, at least in places outside of the US.

Here is a copy of the Google logo:

Very very abstract, but if you read her bio on Wikipedia, it may make sense.

British novelist, short story writer, dramatist, essayist, biographer, and travel writer, best known for her Gothic novel Frankenstein: or, The Modern Prometheus (1818). She also edited and promoted the works of her husband, the Romantic poet and philosopher Percy Bysshe Shelley. Her father was the political philosopher William Godwin, and her mother was the philosopher and feminist Mary Wollstonecraft.

She is most well known for her Frankenstein novels and you can see the gothic/dark portrayed through the Google Doodle in her honor.
