Paul Haahr: Position 10 In Google Gets More Clicks Than Positions 8 Or 9

Paul Haahr, one of the senior folks at Google who work on search rankings, said at SMX West yesterday that position 10 gets way more clicks than positions 8 or 9. He explained that no one wants to click to the next page, so they are more likely to click on the 10th and last search result.

Paul Haahr added that position seven does get more traffic than position ten.

Interesting to know this. A new SEO strategy would be to move your clients from position 8 or 9 to either position 10 or 7, but not have them at position 8 or 9. Too funny, don't you think?
