Does Google Ignore HTML ID Attributes?

An SEO asked Google's John Mueller if HTML ID attributes can help with SEO and John said "no" on Twitter.

To be honest, it is a bit hard to understand the question because of the english, but I am pretty sure that is what the SEO was asking.

Here it is:

So no, the words used in the ID attributes in your HTML doesn't help you rank higher in Google.
