The other day we reported that Google is seeking information from those who switched to CDNs and saw GoogleBot crawl rates change. Google's Gary Illyes said then "if you switch to a cdn and your crawl rate drops, contact the googlebot team via the form in the crawl rate feature."

Someone asked him why would it change. The answer is, GoogleBot needs to learn how much it can crawl that CDN.

Gary Illyes wrote on Twitter "need to relearn how much can we crawl and that takes time.

Makes sense and pretty obvious. So I guess Google is doing a deeper dive on this.
