Google: We've Never Denied An Algorithm Update That Happened

Gary Illyes from Google said on Friday, right after officially confirming the Fred update that Google has never denied an update that "actually happened." At least, he said that Google has never done that, on purpose.

He added that Google can't lie, if they would get caught, it would be a lot worse.

Here is his tweet on Twitter:

Makes you scratch your head - doesn't it? I mean, Google has "no commented" us plenty of times or just not responded or just given the line, we do updates all the time. I guess Google has never said to us that there was NO update on this and that date, so technically, he is probably right.

So Google has never really denied that there was an algorithm update when there was. Sometimes they just don't really confirm it or dodge the question but outright denial - probably never.
