Poll Results: SEOs Don't Agree On If Unlinked URLs Help With Rankings

unlinked google urls benefit pollLast week, I covered how unlinked URLs are used by Google for discovering and indexing new content - heck, I even questioned how that works with the nofollow attribute.

This brings us back to a poll I ran July asking Do Unlinked Citations Directly Benefit Sites In Google? I am honestly surprised by the response here.

  • 40% said Yes, they help my site rank better in Google
  • 39% said No, they don't help my site rank better
  • 22% said Depends, it depends on the site not linking to you.

I would have thought it be more like, 75% said no, 20% said depends and the rest said yes. I am really shocked 40% said yes to the question.

Yes, it can help get your page indexed but does not pass trust or ranking benefit.

Forum discussion continued High Rankings Forums.
