Urchin Before Google Analytics

Urchin

Back in the late 90s and early 2000s, I was a huge fan of Urchin. From the features down to the people. So when Google bought them in 2005, I was both shocked and extremely happy for the Urchin people. I've been a customer of Urchin since they were in beta, early 1998.

Late Friday, they announced Urchin is gone. They said they are "officially retiring the Urchin Software product and focus exclusively on online analytics. On behalf of the original Urchin crew and Google, we thank you and hope that we can continue to serve you with amazing products."

The picture above is from an early SES show when Urchin sponsored the badge inserts. They did for a few shows, at least, back then. I posted it to my Google+ page and called out one of the founders and now very active Googlers +Brett Crosby.
