Marlene Dietrich Google Doodle

Today on Google's home page is a special Google logo, Doodle, for the 116th birthday of Marlene Dietrich. Marlene was a German actress who was also a US citizen, thus why the logo is also in the United States. She really became popular during the Hollywood films era of the 1930s with The Blue Angel, Morocco, Shanghai Express, and Desire. In fact, she was one of the highest-paid actresses of that time.

She was also known as a humanitarian during the war times and received awards for thus efforts from countries including United States, France, Belgium, and Israel.

She was born on December 27, 1901 in Germany and passed at the age of 90 on May 6, 1992 in Paris, France.

For more about why the Doodle, see here what Google wrote.
