Today is the 123rd birthday or anniversary of the legendary park in the United States, Yosemite National Park. It is also the first day the park is being closed because of the 2013 Government Shutdown in place today.

Google, on Google.com, has this logo for the park's birthday.

Here is the Yosemite National Park Google Doodle:

The park was opened on October 1, 1890 and today it is temporarily closed because of the Government shutdown. You can see all the shutdowns in our history at Wikipedia. There have been 18 occasions since 1976 and this is the first once January 6, 1996.

Anyway, at least the Google logo can be visited today while the park is closed.
