decline graphThe Guardian reports via a Hitwise report that for the first time in five years, Google's search market share in the UK dropped below 90%.

Technically it was a small drop from the month before, a drop of 1.41 points to 89.33%. Bing increased slightly by 0.72 percentage points, to 4.71%.

The Guardian story is a bit extreme asking the question, what if Google continued to decline? Well, Google will do whatever they can to stop that but Google doesn't always have to be the leader in search. To you and I, that may seem impossible, but really, anything is possible.
