Webmaster: "Good Content Has Never Been Hit So Hard" By Google

good personA featured WebmasterWorld thread has an emotional but powerful post from a Webmaster who has been creating web sites for over 15 years. In fact, he joined WebmasterWorld as a member back on March 4, 2003, so he has been around a long time.

In short, he said when talking about Google's latest algorithms, "good content has never been hit so hard." He doesn't blame Google, in fact, he believes Google has user's best interests at heart. He just thinks there is way too much collateral damage with the algorithms - especially Panda.

He said:

A fairly clear pattern has emerged: The fight against spam was HUGE. At some level Google failed to react to the crossfire generated, and collateral damage. It hit widely, but no one more than UGC (User Generated Content). In part made possible by the narrowed gathering of, and seeming reluctance to consider, wider-perspective webmaster feedback.

There are a lot of "me too" posts in the thread. I know a lot of you are feeling the same way. In fact, we have a similar post on this topic over here.

Forum discussion at WebmasterWorld.
