Google AdWords Phishing Attempts (OpenDNS)Google has confirmed a large email phishing attempt on their AdWords customers over the past day or two.

Bindu from the Google AdWords team explained in a Google AdWords Help thread the email going out that is a phishing attempt is titled "We stopped running your Google ads this morning."

If you received this email, I'd recommend you simply delete it and never look at it again.

Bindu said in the thread:

You've probably receiving an email titled 'We stopped running your Google ads this morning' and you've probably added Me Too! to the forum thread I'm referencing below. We're working with the technical team to decipher if the specific email described on the forum thread is a phishing attempt (and in most likelihood, it is) so make sure you always follow the steps in our Help Center article that talks about phishing. I've copy pasted it here for everyone's reference:

You can read more on what to do if you received an email like this over here.

This email continued to read, "We had encountered a number of issues when reviewing your ads this morning and we stopped running them. We will review them again and make the necessary changes that will allow to run your ads without any problems." Ignore it and report it to Google.

I should note that Google AdWords phishing attempts are fairly common.
