Europe To Google: Your Simple Privacy Policy Not Easy Enough

Google Privacy PolicyThe news about Google being asked by European regulators to change their policy hit yesterday. In short, despite Google feeling they rolled out a more simplified privacy policy back in January, regulators in Europe find is less helpful to users.

The regulators and The CNIL "have determined that Google's changes breached EU law because they did not give users any chance to opt out of the changes."

They want Google to go back to the piece meal format because it gives users more control.

Although, they also say the way Google has it is not illegal.

I doubt Google will change it but the EU spoke their mind.

Greg Sterling has more on this news adding that although Microsoft has the same type of privacy policy, no one is on their back to change theirs.
