Dian Fossey Google Zoologist Doodle

Dian Fossey was born today, January 16th in 1932, 82 years ago. She was an American zoologist who studied gorillas for over 18 years. The reason for the images of the jungle in mountains with gorillas is because that is where she spent a most of her time doing her research, in the mountain forests of Rwanda.

Fossey was murdered while in Rwanda, she was 53 and it was on December 26, 1985.

Google UK posted on Google+, "Celebrating a famous zoologist: Dian Fossey. Today on google.co.uk we celebrate the life and work of the American zoologist Dian Fossey. On this day in 1932 Dian was born in San Francisco, she went on to study gorilla groups over a period of 18 years."
