Bing LogoBing announced two new features added to Bing Webmaster Tools.

(1) A Malware Re-Evaluation Tool

(2) Geo-Targeting Options

Bing Malware Re-Evaluation Tool

As you may know, Bing is not in favor when it comes to the time it takes to remove malware labels in the search results. I guess Bing was listening and came out with a tool that communicates the re-evaluation of malware on a specific site.

I don't know if this process takes any less time but at least the webmaster knows something is in review.

Bing's new Malware tool provides information about the malware they detected on your web site. Now the Malware tool gives you access to more details that help you understand the nature of the issue, it also allows webmasters to submit and track a malware re-evaluation request once they have cleaned their site. When you submit the evaluation, Bing will give you a way to track the status of the request. It will then do several "deep scans" and if it passes, Bing will tell you and remove the malware warning. If not, then Bing will also tell you but they will prevent you from resubmitting a re-evaluation request "for some time."

Bing Geo-Targeting

With the new geo-targeting option, Bing allows you to define a country affinity for your entire website or for sections of your website from within a single view and from within a single site account. You can geo-target at the domain level, subdomain level, directory level or even page level.
