  • Google AdWords Console Goes Down For An Hour
Last night, around 5pm, advertisers were unable to login to the Google AdWords console to manage their ads. The downtime reportedly lasted about an hour. There were threads at Google AdWords Help and WebmasterWorld amongst others. The AdWords help had an official post from Google confirming the bug and when it went back online. We're currently experiencing a technical issue with a part of our ad system. You may be unable to access your AdWords
  • Google Maps Review Scam: Pay To Remove Bad Reviews
There is a new scam brewing around Google Maps reviews. Mike covered it well at his blog, but I was also planning on writing it this morning, so why not. A WebmasterWorld thread and Google Places Help thread (didn't know about the Google thread, thanks Mike!) all discuss this scam. In short, there are people leaving negative reviews on your map listings. Then shortly after, they are emailing you and offering to remove the negative
  • Some Users Miss Scrolling Google With Arrows
In many cases, when you use your up and down arrows on web pages, the web page will scroll up and down a line at a time. • Google Teasing Webmasters With Alerts Without Detail
There are a few reports in the Google Webmaster Help forums that Google is sending out webmaster alerts in Google Webmaster Tools without any detail. The first report said: Received this alert in my webtools this morning "Alert: Google has noticed potential problems with this site. View »" But when I click view there are no messages listed just a radio box with delete option nothing else. Also says 1 message in the left menu.
  • iPhone Gets Google Goggles
Google Goggles launched at the end of last year on Android phones. Yesterday, the Google Mobile app added the Google Goggles feature. I downloaded it last night and played around with it. Note: Glare kills it, so try to not take pictures of objects with a glare on it. Here is my demo: Hit the camera icon at the top: Snap a picture of the object: Google then scans it: When a match is found,
  • Google Korea Gets Google Balls Logo, Instant Coming Soon?
If you visit Google Korea today you will see the Google Balls logo we saw on many properties days before Google Instant launched. Obviously this implies Google Instant is launching on Google Korea within the next two days or so. Here are pictures: I assume later we will see the as you type logo on Google Korea?
