Why Can't The Google's Founders Have a Negative Page Rank in Google?

A blogger wrote a short complaint in the Google Webmaster Help forums. He asked why if he writes a negative post on one of the Google founders does it not rank well in the Google search results.

We all know how much Google loves negative results but not for their own founders?

John from Google explained why a negative post might not rank well for a search on a founder's name:

If for instance, your content was about "Larry Page" in general, it would likely be very difficult to have that content shown in the first page of our results for a search on Larry's name; that's not because we personally find your content less important, it's just that there is a lot of content focused on that name already.

John added:

I can assure you that we don't have time to read through all the content on the web before deciding whether or not to index it. At Google we work really hard on making all of the information publicly available on the web accessible through our search results, even if it's unfavorable to some people.

Google often won't suppress search results, no matter how negative it is. There are times when they are legally required to or when the search results themselves are illegal. Of course many would argue they would suppress negative search results about the company and the founders.
