Today is Cinco de Mayo but you wouldn't know that by visting Google.com. You would however know it if you went to Yahoo, Bing or DogPile today.

Here are the logos from Yahoo, Bing and Dogpile:

Cinco De Mayo on Yahoo

Cinco De Mayo on Bing

Cinco De Mayo on DogPile

Cinco De Mayo on Ask

Here is the Festival patios cordobeses logo from Google Spain, obviously not related to Cinco de Mayo:

Festival de los Patios Cordobeses Google

Of course, there are complaints there is no Cinco de Mayo doodle from Google at Google Web Search Help.

Well... Cinco De Mayo is a non US event. I mean yes, Mexicans who reside in the US celebrate Cinco De Mayo but it's historical origin is in Mexico. Does perhaps Google US only celebrate US related events/discoveries? Has anyone seen for example Chinese New Year? Or other non US origin Doodles on Google US? Curious...

That's a good question regarding the US only related events/discoveries. Today for example they have a decorated logo for Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, the Russian composer. Oh google. :(

I did see a doodle for chinese new years this year. I think a would be a great idea to boycott google next May 5th. It would also be a good idea if mexican american business owners paused there Adword accounts for the day.

Honestly they celebrate independence days and various holidays from countries around the world so i think this is a specific decision of theirs and not really honorable. There is nothing else going on today so it would be nice if they did not do things for random countries like czech republic and multiple new years and independence of other countries and leave out one of the big ones.
