Poll: Most SEOs Use Webmaster Tools But Many Still Use Site Command

check-index-poll.pngLast week we asked how you check to see how many pages of your site is in the Google index. With almost a 150 responses and since this makes for a good scheduled post (I am offline), I figured I'd share the results.

47% said they use Google Webmaster Tools to see how many pages of their site is in the Google index. But 31% said they still use the Google Site Command. I am a bit upset to see so many people using the site command but I guess it is hard to teach an old dog new tricks?

7% said they don't bother checking the number of pages they have indexed and 5% said they have custom tools that check. Here is the break down:
