Yesterday, Google had a Doodle or logo up on Google.co.uk and some other international properties (not Google.com) for the 100th birthday of Akira Kurosawa. Wikipedia says he "was a Japanese film director, producer, screenwriter and editor. In a career that spanned 57 years, Kurosawa directed 30 films. He is widely regarded as one of the most important and influential of all filmmakers. In 1989, he was awarded the Academy Award for Lifetime Achievement "for cinematic accomplishments that have inspired, delighted, enriched and entertained worldwide audiences and influenced filmmakers throughout the world".

Today, I went to Google Israel, just by chance, and noticed an interesting Doodle there. The Doodle is for representing the first transmission of Israeli Educational Television. Today on 1966 was its first broadcast. Here is a picture of that doodle:
