Google Reconsideration Request Language Modified

Feb 25, 2008 - 9:10 am 0 by

Michael VanDeMar noticed in his blog that Google has changed the language of their reconsideration request language to something a little less "accusatory."

The previous wording said that "I believe this site has violated Google’s quality guidelines in the past.”

Now, you don't have to acknowledge wrongdoing. The reconsideration request says:

Reconsideration statement: By submitting this request, I acknowledge that:

  • I have read and understand Google's quality guidelines.
  • This site does not currently violate Google's quality guidelines.
  • I agree to abide by Google's quality guidelines in the future.

Nice. Barry Welford sums it up:

It's great to see a relatively speedy and customer-sensitive response from Google. So often, they don't seem to have the time.
